What is Karate? Karate is a martial art that emphasizes on kicks, open-hand strikes, and closed-hand strikes. Karate means "Empty Hand" and has many aspects. Besides teaching the "traditional" aspects of the art, we also give the opportunity for our students to be involved with the competition part of Karate. Karate has grown in popularity in the United States and is enjoyed and practiced by many of all ages. The style we teach is "Kwanmukan" Karate (Realization of the Essential).
What is Jujitsu? Jujitsu means "the Gentle Art". It encompasses striking, joint locks, ground-work, take-downs, and throws. Techniques from this art has made it well-rounded for self-defense since it covers situations standing up or on the ground. Many arts such as Judo and Aikido came out this martial art. Due to the advanced techniques of this art, the class is only open for those ages 12 and above. We teach the art of Kenka Aikijitsu. |
